With The New Etch-O-Matic Etching System

You Can Etch into the surface of Anything Metal, including Tools, Instruments, Equipment or Metal Parts, anything that You can produce on your Computer and Expose on one of the New Universal Stencils described in this Website.

This includes Names, Numbers, Designs, Logos, Trademarks or even Your Own Signature. Using an Electro- Chemical principle, the New ETCH-O-MATIC can Etch as Deep as .003" of an Inch in Less than 30 Seconds or Mark the Hardest Tool Steel and Carbides almost Instantly. It marks any Flat or Round Metal Surface down to 1/16" Diameter and any Metal Thickness from Thin Foil up to the Largest Castings easily. Most Marks (which look like Printing or Engraving) take about 3 to 20 Seconds (the Longer Dwell Times are for Deep Etching) and are Permanently Etched into the Metal.

How Does it Work?

It just doesn't get any Easier than this. You simply use your computer to create whatever trademark, logo, or text you want to etch on your metal pieces. You are limited by nothing but your imagination.

Print your design onto a transparency (Included in the kit!). Then use one of the New Stencil Makers to turn the transparency into a stencil in just 3 - 5 minutes.

Etch a Stainless Steel Travel Mug

Here we are Etching a Stainless Steel Travel Mug but it could be Anything else Made of Metal.  We are going to put a custom design on it just to show how Quick and Easy it is.

Step 1 - Make a Universal Stencil (Home Page)

First simply create any text copy, design or artwork on your computer and print it out on a transparency film in your kit.

Then use the transparency and one of the Stencil Makers show below to "Expose" the stencil. Next develop and dry it and you will have a stencil ready to make dozens or even hundred of marks.

Step 2 - Secure The Mug to be Etched

Place your travel mug, or what ever you are etching, in a secure position so it won't roll around while you etch. You can use our Universal Holder (available here) or your own system.

Step 3 - Position the Stencil

Position the stencil on the metal to be etched. Be very careful with the alignment of your stencil and line up your copy exactly where you want the etch to go. Use Scotch tape to secure the stencil to the metal surface.

Step 4 - Prepare Etch-O-Matic

Use the electrolyte solution in your kit to wet the pad of the Etch-O-Matic unit. This is the chemical that creates the etch (Electrolyte) when a very small electric charge is passed through it.

Electric charge is so little you can NOT feel it. (10 Volts and 1 Amp.)

Step 5 - Apply the Etch-O-Matic Stencil

Clip the alligator clip  on the ground wire to a metal edge of the travel mug or just touch it and make sure the Etch-O-Matic unit is plugged in.

Apply the wet pad of the Etch-O-Matic to the copy part of your stencil.  If the surface is curved, you can Roll the Etch-O-Matic in order to contact all of the surface and in Seconds it is Permanently Etched.

Enjoy Your Personalized Travel Mug!

It's that simple! Just remove the stencil and wash off any extra electrolyte. Dry the metal, and enjoy your permanently etched, custom designed metal item!
