How To Etch Anything Metal In Seconds!
Etched Stainless Steel Travel Mug Here we are Etching a Stainless Steel Travel Mug but it could be  Anything else Made of Metal.  We are going to put a custom design on it just to show how Quick and Easy it is.  There are complete Instructions on the Home Page on how to create your custom stencil. After you make your stencil then follow the steps below.
1. Make a Universal Stencil.
Start with a Universal Stencil First simply create any text copy, design or artwork on your computer and print it out on a transparency film in your kit.  Then use the transparency and one of the Stencil Makers show below to "Expose" the stencil.  Next develop and dry it and you will have a stencil ready to make dozens or even hundred of marks.
2. Secure The Piece To Be Etched.
Secure the Piece to be Etched Place your travel mug, or what ever you are etching, in a secure position so it won't roll around while you etch. You can use our Universal Holder (available here) or your own system.
3. Position The Stencil.
Position the Stencil Position the stencil on the metal to be etched. Be very careful with the alignment of your stencil and line up your copy exactly where you want the etch to go. Use Scotch tape to secure the stencil to the metal surface.
4. Prepare Etch-O-Matic.
Prepare Etch-O-Matic for Etching Use the electrolyte solution in your kit to wet the pad of the Etch-O-Matic unit. This is the chemical that creates the etch (Electrolyte) when a very small electric charge is passed through it.  Electric charge is so little you can NOT feel it. (10 Volts and 1 Amp.)
5. Apply Etch-O-Matic to stencil.
Apply Etch-O-Matic to Stencil Clip the alligator clip  on the ground wire to a metal edge of the travel mug or just touch it and make sure the Etch-O-Matic unit is plugged in. Apply the wet pad of the Etch-O-Matic to the copy part of your stencil.  If the surface is curved, you can Roll the Etch-O-Matic in order to contact all of the surface and in Seconds it is Permanently Etched.
6. Enjoy Your Etching!
Travel Mug Etched with Your Stencil   It's that simple! Just remove the stencil and wash off any extra electrolyte.  Dry the metal, and enjoy your permanently etched, custom designed metal item!  (Note:  We have many customers that use this idea and sell a lot of Travel Mugs that they can quickly personalize.)
